New Mason and Hamlin Model A Grand This piano has a "Factory Installed" Piano Disk player system. With a length of 5'8" the soundboard is the center piece of this pianos essence. The M&H soundboard emanates a sound that can be described as both sweet and powerful, melodic and thunderous. These characteristics can be attributed to the choice of material which is a tight-grained, quarter-sawn Eastern White Spruce that is dried and aged to perfection. While Mason is constructed from some the finest materials available, a soundboard must be properly shaped to take advantage of its full potential. M&H shapes the crown of the soundboard via cutting it directly into the ribs them selves. This method allow them to precisely control the shape of each rib.
